Since then, we’ve evolved into a thriving financial firm with its head office in Ottawa, Ontario, and a strong base of financial planning professionals across Canada that manage billions in client assets. Independent Planning Group is a mutual fund dealer, exempt market dealer and a managing general agency.

Our mission

It is the mission of IPG to provide financial advisors with innovative technology, up-to-date information and resources, and superior products to help position them as premier providers of investment, insurance and financial planning advice and services.

Corporate highlights

Here are some of IPG’s accomplishments and credentials:

  • October 1994, we became a mutual fund dealer and limited market dealer and a life insurance MGA in September 1996
  • Our President, Vince Valenti, is a co-founder, past share-holder and director of Winfund Software Corp.
  • In 2000, we acquired Tricount Accounting Services Inc., with staff members joining IPG as a CFO, a senior tax consultant and a compliance auditor
  • In 2003, IPG buys and moves operations to a 13,000 sq ft commercial building
  • In June 2003, IPG launches new Client Relationship Management software IPG Virtual Office
  • Began a mentoring campaign with Ontario based colleges and universities in 2007
  • Launched the Brigata mutual fund company in January 2008
  • Introduced a new strategic alliance with PPI Solutions in March 2011
